Mark Twain would’ve loved Gordy
“Gordy’s not dead.”
It was Rollie on the phone.
“I had breakfast with Gordy this morning,” he said.
Then he laughed.
I said that Gordy was probably
glad to learn he wasn’t dead.
Rollie chuckled a little, and said
he thought so; Gordy was probably happy to
know that he wasn’t dead.
Later on that day, I checked my email.
“Check this out,” said the subject line.
It was from Gordy.
So, I figure Gordy isn’t really dead.
Stopping to think about it, I hadn’t heard
from Gail in about three years. She was
the one who had told me Gordy was dead.
It’s nice to know Gail is alive.
I’ll have to get in touch with Gordy.
Sometime soon.
You just never know, man.
