Have You Been Double Crossed Today?

Fab Crimbo

Christmas Season, traditionally,
is one where I isolate, and stay close to home,
like a wounded animal scuttling away from it all.

This year is different.
I wanted to know how the other half lives.

After years of people telling me they can’t stand “The Holidays”,
I’ve found I’m not so alone.

So, in the spirit of the Season…

Fab Crimbo y’all.

Right.
I feel much better.

(waiting for more…)

By the way,
it’s snowing at F a t h e r L u k e .com

This sounds vaguely familiar to me.

“I wish to be left alone” said Scrooge “Since you ask me what I wish, gentlemen, that is my answer. I don’t make merry myself at Christmas and I can’t afford to make idle people merry.” Dickens

But I read about your “traditional Christmas” and if it’s even slightly autobiographical no sensible person could find fault with your “Scrooge like” demeanor. I prefer my holidays without alcohol, drugs, and spousal abuse.

On a more cheerful note;

The things I do to the English language
could be best described as misuse or abuse.
Please forgive me, for I learned to read
from Dr. Suess and Mother Goose
so I grew up with this childish idea
that a poet should always rhyme his lines
and in order to correct my terrible habits
Eye’ve been reading your poems to refine my mind. kmoo

Fab Crimbo.

Father Luke goes like this:

Dr Suess, eh?
Rhyming poems
are found in homes
where dad loves mom
and mom loves dad
and incest is never had
and the poems are usually bad

although a fad
never caught on
they would run on
and on
and on
to have a point
they would anoint
the truth

Is it Suess, Seuss, or Zeus?
I can be so obtuse.

Anyway, your response was much more thought provoking than a sober reading of One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. I like the new one on fldotcom too.

I had a few problems with papa and mama.
He was quick with his fist, she could lay on the drama
but I don’t think I suffered any permanent trauma.

What you’ve described here is much rougher abuse.
I only had parents with a screw or two loose.
Not sure that explains why my poems have no juice.
