I have installed a program on the computer
« on: June 09, 2010, 06:04:57 PM »
that tells me to stretch or move

or have tea every 20 minutes...

I am not proud of this.

But we'll see how it works

Maybe it will have some good ideas.

You ever read that story 'Quitters Inc.' by Stephen King?

It's about a guy who is talked into joining a kind of

(what turns out to be) a efficiently ruthless control

agency that exacts horrible punishments on him

if they catch him smoking. And of course they've

got cameras and investigators all over the place.

They torture his wife cuz they catch him sneaking a

cigarette and then send him a bill for the electricity used.

Somehow the little program makes me think of that.

How much of ourselves do we give over to machines

because we can't control our own selves?

Sometimes I think my computer is a form of life support for me.
Like a dialysis machine, or ... or maybe I think that.
Am I in denial?

BTW? I set this website up in less than four days.

I make the most of what little time I have in this old internet.

Life support system. Yeah. I often think of it that way esepecially when I'm in bed and have all these wires going from me to the machines.
